CHURCH
Grange Baptist Church is an evangelical (Bible believing) church in the suburb of Grange in Brisbane’s inner north. We’re a community of believers who hold firmly to the truths of the Gospel; the good news of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and we seek to make him known. We consider it our greatest privilege and joy to bring glory to God our heavenly Father, to worship and adore Christ our Saviour, and to walk daily by the Spirit. We long to see others come to personally know God and his eternal salvation for themselves. Our Statement of Faith is a brief summary of what it is we believe.
Here at Grange Baptist you’ll find a church who are committed to loving God’s Word, who seek to honour his Word with our lives and who are depending on the Holy Spirit to bring that to bear. As such, you’ll find the preaching to be richly Bible-based (expository) and applied (culturally relevant and engaging).
If you have any questions about Grange Baptist Church, please contact us or better still, come along on Sunday and speak directly to our elders and deacons. We hope to meet you at a service soon!
MEMBERSHIP
As Christians, we’re not called to follow Jesus on our own as his lone disciples. In his goodness, God as called us into a community. This is no casual Christian club either; it’s his Church. With it comes close fellowship, a likeness of mind and a shared future hope (among many other blessings). The result is that when you have Jesus in common, any and all differences pale in comparison.
The bonds of encouragement and love and the unity of the Spirit are so good for us that God has lovingly commanded us not to forsake meeting together (Heb 10:25). The Bible calls us brothers and sisters in Christ meaning we belong to Jesus but also to one another (Rom 12:5). We get a sense of this in how the Bible describes the church as a body (1 Cor 10:17), a household (Eph 2:19-22), and a family (2 Cor 6:18).
Here at Grange we have church membership because it’s Biblical and it’s benefits are many. Membership provides clarity as to who makes up a local church. It highlights the importance of belonging to a church and serving in that church and it challenges us not to be casual ‘attendees’ of church but ‘members’ of a local Gospel family. Our Church Covenant outlines how we are seeking to live that out.
